pH Sensor Integrated Toilet

Our client was a lab at Duke that was interested in a device that would allow them to easily test the pH of urine from patients in the study. The client wanted the device to easily attach to any toilet, and be able to detect the pH of the urine without being invasive for the patient. The solution our team came up with utilized a motorized pH tape dispenser, and a funnel to have the patient's urine make contact with the tape when they used the toilet and immediately report the pH value using a color sensor.
